Something Blue
by Jason Wilber
Take your fortune and your flames
Roll the wheel and listen to the grind killing time
Dab a little makeup on your mind
Looks fine but what's that up inside
Something blue
All the stars on Mars
Float above the harbor ships arrive, depart
Wishing they could see into your heart
Your eyes reflecting all the while
Something blue
Something blue
If it's forever I can't wait
Til fortune shines far away
When all is said we're dead
And times just a waterfall up ahead
Time travels tonight
Slowly thru the city sideshow lights Windows bright
Shiny things but none as wild as you
Cutting through
Before the fatal fault line breaks away
Please wait and Tell me what you'd say to...
Something blue
Something new
Something borrowed
Something old too
Something blue

Ghost Light

Ghost Light
by Jason Wilber
If you ever wander down to the old part of town
There’s a marquee that leans to one side
And a box office window cloudy and dark
in a lobby where an old usher hides
There the street may suddenly fall silent
And you might feel a faint tinge of fear
Where once stood a line just before curtain time
The sidewalk is quiet and clear
There’s a ghost light keeping me up at night
Out on that darkened stage
And I know it’s here that I’m meant to appear
But somehow I’ve lost my way
They say inside every night the old lights come on bright
And places are taken off stage
By a well polished company consisting of those
Who don’t know that they’ve passed away
The old house it’s standing room only
And these wings they’re bustling too
For it’s known by all that any one curtain call
Maybe the last one you hear
Chorus
A little known soul rings the box office toll
In the oil of endless midnight
Condemned to eternity adding up numbers
That never will come out quite right
Then a whisper slips through all the company and crew
Met with joy and then melancholy
The word has come down from the old man uptown…
Held over indefinitely
Chorus

Ripples and Waves

You don’t have to say anything I finally figured it out
It’s been seven months now since you left this house
Sometimes I hear a ringing and I pick up the phone
But it’s just my heart breaking and it’s just a dial tone
So I tried my luck wishing but I finally gave it up
There ain’t nothing in that river it’s like the well just dried up
I watched all the driftwood drift 'round the bend
And pile up on the concrete where the bridge used to stand
I see reflections
In the ripples and the waves
Stars in the night time
Clouds in the days
I found this old bottle and I stuck in a note
I threw it in the water but that bottle didn’t float
And we sank down to the bottom yeah the bottle and me
Until the memories just faded like invisible ink
Sometimes I think about the other side and I wonder how you are
Cause the rivers gotten wider and I can’t see that far
I threw a silver dollar I threw it as hard as I could
The way we threw away our chances the way we’re through for good
I see reflections in the ripples and the waves
Stars in the night time
Clouds in the days
Stars in the night time
Clouds in the days

How Does Love Survive

How Does Love Survive
Jason Wilber
How does love survive
How does love get by
So many broken hearts and bitter memories
How does love survive
Does it worry does it cry
Late at night when no one else can hear
You promise you’ll be true
And you do the things you do
To make love grow into something strong and fine
But you turn up lots of stones
When you plow the lovers row
And it’s no surprise the sun doesn’t always shine
CHORUS
Where do heartaches go
When they leave us do they flow
Down a river of tears out into an ocean of sorrow
Where a thousand valentines drift out with the tide
From the rocks where lovers leave their hearts behind
CHORUS

Another You

Who would wake up in the morning
Who would boil up the tea
Who would if you weren’t you
What would you do
What would you say
Would there even be anything anyway
Another day
Another You
Another You
Time is just imaginary
Why all these disconnected daydreams
What’s this concern over the truth
Where would they be if you weren’t here to see
What would they do
What would they say
Would there even be anyone anyway
Another day
Another You
Who is it whispering in the night time
Who is it drifting off in sleep
Flying back and forth tethered by that silver cord
Where do you go
What do you know
Are you slipping off to some celestial home
Where there roams, Another You
